Sleeping Beauty!

Two shots of Pearl from today. She took a nap after running errands with Mimsy and I. She also crashed earlier than her normal bedtime, I'm assuming it's because she had a hard time staying asleep last night. The poor monkey kept waking up, I wonder if it was bad dreams? Tonight she fell asleep with one of her toys still clutched in her hand. Can she get any cuter?

Wednesday

Daddy Strikes Again!

Today I was out in the garage replacing the door opener so that we don't have to continue to get out of the car when tired from work, when it's raining, or ever anymore to open the garage door. Anyway, whilst I was in there Kim brought Pearl out with her walker to let her hang out with us as I was doing the installing. To make a long story short, Pearl went crazy with the smooth floor of the garage...

Feeding the Monkey!

Pearl is loving her oatmeal cereal and bananas! We managed to snap a few pics before the camera battery died. Mommy is loving Pearl's highchair from IKEA!

5 Months And 1 Day Today

Pearl and I shared a first today, and I must say it made me a little moist in the occular region. My amazing wife and I (who just happens to be the amazing mother of the most wonderful little girl in the world as well) went to Ikea to switch the slats that we originally bought for the bed for a set that will not constantly fall to the floor. On our way home we stopped at Publix for a few items, including a few for Pearl. We returned home and I set out fixing the bed and making sure it is put together correctly. After I completed this all important task (as mommy and me need a place to sleep tonight) I got thrown up on, which isn't the first that Pearl and I shared just an interesting side note to the story. Anyway, after the bed and the puke I took pearl in to the kitchen to show her what I purchased for her. I fed Pearl her first real food tonight, she had some bananas first which she gobbled up like a ravinous beast, and then I decided to let her try some carrots which went over quite splendidly as well. She did amazing with her first foods, swollowed it all and didn't spit up a drop of the tasty bananas and carrots. It was very nice to finally be able to feed Pearl myself...

Popsicle Toes

Here's a link to a song By Michael Franks: "Popsicle Toes"

Also in honor of Pearl's fifth month birthday!

Sunday

PPOTD: Pearl and her Tootsies!

Pearl has made the wonderful discovery of her feet. She loves to suck on her toes when she manages to get them in her mouth. She loves to nibble on them even when they are sweaty!

Wednesday

Just a couple of pics...

You can spot a tiny Pearl sleeping in the middle of our new bed. Having a king bed makes co-sleeping so much more comfortable. Pearl got to try out a sippy cup. It's actually empty, I just wanted to see what she would do with it. She liked throwing it on the floor. I love the shot of Clay and his Great Pearlini...they look so happy snuggling.

Thursday

Pearl pictures and an update!

It's time for an update on our favorite "little poop", Miss Pearl! As you can see, Pearl is wearing a bib most of the day, that is due to her constant drooling. Mommy didn't want her outfits to be drenched anymore, so a bib helps solve that dilemma. Some days she can go through three bibs, it's amazing. She has taken to spinning the bib around, it flows from behind like a little cape on Super Baby.

Rolling from her stomach to her back is a new found treat, as is removing her own socks. Pearl gets a look of great satisfaction when those socks come off. Throwing her plastic letters on the floor when she is in her walker is also a fun pasttime. Watching Mommy or Mimsy pick them up and return them is enough to make her do it all over again.

Poor Daddy got his first real taste of Pearl crying when he leaves today. I was nursing Pearl in the bedroom when it was time for Clay to leave for work. He said goodbye to his girls, walked down the hall, and Pearl started to bawl. He came back in the room, said hi to her, she smiled, he left again, she started to cry. It was heartbreaking.

Enjoy these photos!

Friday

The photo madness continues...

It's hard to believe we're halfway through Pearl's fourth month! What a trip it's been so far, and I'm so looking forward to everything that is to come. As you can tell from a number of the photos I've posted recently, Pearl loves to stick her tongue out. At times it seems it's always hanging out of her mouth, so I tease her that it might stay that way. Today she finally showed some interest in her feet, I can only imagine what might become of that fascination! Pearl wanted Bumpa Bob to see her in the "short overall" outfit he picked out for her, we think she looks quite snazzy in it.
