Friday

Dear Pearl,

Now that your a week into your second year of life, I would like to take this opportunity to let you know just why you mean so much to me, and other stuff I want to say. I look at you when you are sleeping, playing with your toys, getting yogurt and cereal from your mommy, or anything that you do really and I realize that you have made my life complete. Your Mommy filled in one hole in my life and you have filled the other. As you grow up you should know that you can always come to me with any problems or concerns that you have, and I promise that I will give the best advice I can. I will always make time for my little girl, I will never be "too busy", there will never be a "bad time" to talk with me. Daddies are not perfect, I am no exception, but I swear to be the best daddy that I can be. If you can forgive the little mistakes I will make along the way, I won't ever make the same one twice, I know I will just learn how to be a better daddy. If this past year is any indication, I know that you will continue to amaze and astound me. You are an intelligent, beautiful, amazing little girl and I am honored and proud to be your daddy. Getting to know you is one of my best adventures yet, and I am giddy with excitement to continue to get to know you. I can hardly wait to teach you all kinds of stuff, and take you to wonderful places. I can only imagine the questions you will ask me: "Why is the sky blue" or "Why do the stars twinkle" and I will answer as honestly or creatively as possible, the fun part will be to decide which answer I chose. Just do me a favor and don't grow up too fast, I know you will grow up to be an amazing, intelligent, and strong woman...but you will always be my little girl. I love you so much Pearl Allison, you are definitely my light.

Love,

Daddy

Thursday

1 Year Old!!!

It's been a whole year since Pearl came into our lives, WOW, it seems like yesterday that we brought her home from the hospital. I know that I say it often. but I can't say it TOO often, I am so lucky to be this little girl's daddy. I am honored to know her and to have the chance to know her more. Pearl had a good day today, long and tiring but good. Nana, Mimsy, Mommy, Daddy, and Aunt Bobbie were all here to celebrate 1 year of life with Pearl. Presents were given and cake was eaten (and smeared), and burritos were made.
Happy Birthday little pumpkin, here's to many more!!!

Tuesday

Queen of the Sofa!

Pearl has been tackling the sofa the last few days. She has been determined to crawl up all by herself. What these videos fail to show is her doing it all alone, with no boppy to rely on. I heard a happy squeal, turned and she had done it all by herself. What a girl!
